At the Dinner Table With This “Messy” World

Rethink Church: Stop Worshipping Within Walls, Start Serving in the World.

Stepping into this messy world, where would we have found Jesus? Not behind stained glass, but squarely in the chaotic, messy spaces of the world—with the marginalized, the condemned, and the outcasts judged by the religious elite.

At Bethany UMC, we refuse to stay inside. We are deeply and relentlessly engaged with this messy world.

But imagine the ultimate transformation if we all prioritized sitting at one big table. A table set for everyone: neighbors, strangers, the marginalized, those who are different, those who vote differently, those we struggle to like, and yes, even our enemies.

By forging genuine, deep connection with anyone seeking hope, we won’t just be a place for Jesus; we’ll become a living, breathing reflection of His radically inclusive love.
